Transform the Concrete Lot at Agiou Meletiou 45 into the First "Pocket Park"

Following the recent debate on the "Pocket Parks Initiative," I am proposing that we select the abandoned lot at Agiou Meletiou 45 as the pilot location for this project.

Current Situation: Currently, this 150sqm space is a heat trap. It is fully paved with broken concrete, effectively abandoned, and often used for illegal dumping. In July, surface temperatures here exceed 40°C, affecting the apartments directly above.

The Proposal:

1. De-paving: Remove the concrete seal to allow the ground to breathe and absorb rainwater.

2. Canopy Layer: Plant 3 mature Mulberry (Mouries) trees to provide immediate shade.

3. Social Furniture: Install two circular wooden benches to encourage social interaction among the neighborhood's elderly residents who currently have nowhere to sit.

This location is ideal because it is directly opposite the 4th Primary School, meaning parents and children could use it while waiting for the bell. It transforms a "dead space" into a community asset.
