Open Dialogue: The "Pocket Parks" Initiative – Transforming Concrete into Green Space
As part of the new "Green Neighborhoods 2026" strategy, the municipality has allocated funds to convert three unused paved lots into "Pocket Parks" (small-scale urban green spaces).
We are opening this debate to gather community insights before the architectural contest begins. We want to hear from residents, shop owners, and parents about how these spaces should function.
Key questions for discussion:
Location vs. Function: Should these parks prioritize shading and cooling (heavy planting) or social activities (benches, playgrounds, and tables)?
Maintenance: How can the local community get involved in the upkeep of these parks?
Accessibility: What specific features are needed to ensure elderly residents and people with disabilities can enjoy these spaces during the hot summer months?
Your feedback will directly influence the design brief given to the landscape architects.
